Office Visits

It is our goal to give you the healthy, beautiful smile you deserve in a fun and professional environment. Orthodontic treatment is a big decision for you and your family, and our caring team will make this an amazing journey!

Your First Visit

Your first visit with Dr. Cohen is always complimentary! During this new patient exam, you will meet our orthodontist and our team. We will complete a thorough exam as you discuss your concerns, and then the doctor will determine whether treatment should be started immediately or if it would be more appropriate to delay treatment to allow time for growth and development. If immediate treatment is appropriate, your next step will be diagnostic records. We’ll be happy to complete your diagnostic records which include photos, X-rays and digital scan, at which time the doctor will discuss his recommendations for treatment.

So that we may provide you with the best experience, please take some time to complete our new patient and health history forms before your first appointment.

The Next Step

Congratulations! You made the decision to begin your orthodontic treatment! After your initial exam you will schedule your first appointment to begin your journey. Typically this is the day you may get your braces or another orthodontic appliance, depending on your customized treatment plan. This appointment usually takes about 1 1/2 hours. You’ll receive your own orthodontic care kit, and our team will be available to answer all of your questions. We’re here to make sure that you and your family are as comfortable, and relaxed as possible.

Scheduling Appointments is Easy

There has never been a better time to begin orthodontic treatment! With today’s technology, appointments are so convenient, and you will find that you will not miss as much school or work. You will visit Dr. Cohen about every four to ten weeks. It is important that you stay on track with your treatment goals in the estimated time.

To accomplish this, it is imperative that you schedule and attend these appointments. We will work with you to schedule days and times that work best for you. Please give us a call to reschedule when you may be running late for an appointment, or know in advance that you have a conflict so that we may work together to achieve your best results.

You will visit Dr. Cohen about every four to ten weeks depending on your treatment plan.

Your General Dentist is a vital part of our team

We work closely with your dentist to maintain healthy teeth and gums during your orthodontic treatment. Dr. Cohen recommends that our patients see their general dentist at minimum twice a year for cleanings and evaluation.

If he sees that you need additional dental treatment, he will be happy to go the extra mile to coordinate with your dentist to ensure the best result. We are proud of our continued relationships with our dental teams!

They are an extension of our team!
