“I love my profession and I love what I do everyday. I especially enjoy seeing my patients on Deband day and how it transforms their smile and overall demeanor.”

Dr. Matthew J. Cohen was born in upstate New York and then moved to Marietta, Georgia with his family, as his dad Dr. Barry D. Cohen began his orthodontic career. Matthew was raised in East Cobb with his two siblings, Adam and Rachel. He attended Walton High School from 2002-2006 and was a participant of the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program with a major in chemistry.

After graduating, he then attended Emory University from 2006-2010 where he majored in chemistry and minored in global public health. During his time at Emory, Matthew was nominated as an ORISE fellow at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Matthew’s aspiration since he was a child was to pursue a career in the healthcare profession where he could help patients in need and improve their quality of life. With an acute interest in natural science, advanced artistic skills, and coupled with his passion of interacting with patients, Matthew decided to follow in his dad’s footsteps and pursue a career in the dental profession. Matthew attended the Medical College of Georgia, College of Dental Medicine in Augusta, Georgia.

He then went on to obtain a Master of Science degree and specialty training at the world-renowned Eastman Institute of Oral Health in Rochester, NY. In his free time, Dr. Matt enjoys outdoor activities such as such hiking, biking, skiing, camping, and fishing. In addition, he enjoys cooking and spending time with his family and friends.
